George's 2 Cents Worth
I don't know how to tell you this, but DTE Energy often recruits psychotic urban guerrillas who bring to DTE Energy's cause new energy and a willingness to fortify a social correctness that restricts experience and defines success with narrow boundaries. Here's my side of the story: You don't need to be a rocket scientist to detect the subtext of this letter. But just in case it's too subliminal for some, let me thrust it into your face right here: It (DTE) is trying to brainwash us. It (DTE) wants us to believe that it's (DTE is) piteous (pitying; compassionate) to disabuse (to free from a falsehood or misconception) it of the notion that censorship could benefit us; that's boring; that's not cool. You know what I think of that, don't you? I think that DTE Energy's most progressive idea is to reward mediocrity. If that sounds progressive to you, you must be facing the wrong way. I don't believe that power corrupts DTE Energy but that DTE Energy corrupts power. Speaking of corruption and power, if DTE Energy believes that it is a tireless protector of civil rights and civil liberties for all people, then it's obvious why it (DTE) thinks that everyone with a different set of beliefs from its (DTE) is going to get a one-way ticket to Hell.
When DTE Energy says that the most harebrained sojourners (procurers) of perjury you'll ever see are easily housebroken, that's just a load of spucatum tauri (BS). When you reflect upon this, you'll realize that DTE Energy insists that all it takes to solve our social woes are shotgun marriages, heavy-handed divorce laws, and a return to some mythical 1950s Shangri-la. How can it (DTE) be so blind? Very easily. Basically, DTE Energy says that its theatrics are not worth getting outraged about. This is noxious (harmful/injurious) falsehood. The truth is that if it (DTE) is going to ruin people's lives, then it (DTE) should at least have the self-respect to remind itself of a few things: First, a person with a functioning brain does not hand over the country to impulsive schmoes. And second, it (DTE) argues that I am malign (evil in disposition/having or showing malice or ill will) for wanting to examine the social and cultural conditions that create division in the name of diversity. I should point out that this is almost the same argument that was made against Copernicus (1473-1543) and Galileo (1564-1642) almost half a millennium ago. I have always assumed that each of these issues is central to the colonialism (a policy by which a nation maintains or extends its control over foreign dependencies) debate, but the fact of the matter is that this is not Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia, where the state would be eager to offer stones instead of bread to the emotional and spiritual hungers of the world. Not yet, at least. But it has been said that DTE Energy's public virtue is dwarfed by its private vice. I, in turn, contend that to believe that anyone who dares to shout back at its (DTE’s) propaganda can expect to suffer hair loss and tooth decay as a result is to deceive ourselves. DTE Energy certainly needs to stop living in a fool's paradise. No wonder that I correctly predicted that DTE Energy would dominate or intimidate others. Alas, I didn't think it'd (DTE would) do that so effectively -- or so soon.
If DTE Energy's words aren't inerudite (ignorant), I don't know what is. Regardless of the theoretical beauty of the notion that there is no reason to rot our minds with the hallucinatory drug of despotism (absolute power or authority/ tyranny) and there is every reason not to, there is the opposing fact that if DTE Energy had even a shred of intellectual integrity, it'd admit that the cry of "bigot" is raised mostly by bigots. I submit that everyone should stop and mull that assertion. Then, you'll understand why DTE Energy has two imperatives. The first is to rewrite history to reflect or magnify an imaginary "victimhood". The second imperative is to treat anyone who doesn't agree with it (DTE) to a torrent of vitriol (bitterly abusive feeling or expression) and vilification (make vicious and defamatory statements). If some people are offended by my mentioning that if stated outright, DTE Energy's ballyhoos (sensational or clamorous advertising or publicity) would be manifestly unpopular, then so be it. DTE Energy says that its debauches (to corrupt morally) are the result of a high-minded urge to do sociological research. You know, it (DTE) can lie as much as it (DTE) wants but it (DTE) can't change the facts. If it (DTE) could, it'd (DTE would) unquestionably prevent anyone from hearing that I strive to be consistent in my arguments. I can't say that I'm 100% true to this but DTE Energy's frequent vacillating (sway from one side to the other; oscillate) leads me to believe that it (DTE) maintains that merit is adequately measured by its methods and qualifications. This is hardly the case. Rather, there is growing evidence that says, to the contrary, that its reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth, but only repressive answers, irritating resolutions to conflicts.
If I didn't sincerely believe that DTE Energy's treatises are steeped in grotesque chauvinism, then I wouldn't be writing this letter. I might be able to forgive DTE Energy, but only if it promises never again to court a shambolic (disorderly or chaotic) minority of antisocial twerps. If DTE Energy honestly believes that some of my points are not valid, I would love to get some specific feedback from (DTE) it. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of individuals and organizations, many of whom may seem innocent at first glance, who secretly want to take away our sense of community and leave us morally adrift. Being the analytical sort that I am, I would have to say that we must remove our chains and move towards the light. (In case you didn't understand that analogy, the chains symbolize DTE Energy's unsophisticated grievances, and the light represents the goal of getting all of us to lend support to the thesis that the fight to build a sane and healthy society free of its destructive influences demands a fight against prostitution, prejudices, old habits, and previous conceptions.) Because we have the determination to see the truth prevail, we must never forget that DTE Energy's sycophants (self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people) are more determined than most quasi (having a likeness to something; resembling) effrontive (tending to offend, abusive), haughty (having or showing arrogant superiority to and disdain of those one views as unworthy also scornfully and condescendingly proud) ne'er-do-wells. It's that simple.
I pause to note that there is a problem here. A large, politically incorrect, scornful problem. DTE Energy's patter is smooth and quite practiced. It (DTE) can fast-talk you into believing you'd be better off if you participated in its effort to delegitimize our belief systems and replace them with a counter-hegemony (predominant influence, as of a state, region, or group, over another or others) that seeks to create a climate of intimidation. However, its (DTE’s) hastily mounted campaigns fall apart upon reflection.
If you think that this is humorous or exaggerated, you're wrong. Do you really think DTE Energy will ever learn from its mistakes? There are some simple truths in this world. First, I disapprove of defeatism and I disapprove of DTE Energy's pestiferous (morally evil or deadly, bothersome; annoying) mottos. Second, DTE Energy may be engaged in extortion, racketeering, and/or money laundering. And finally, I challenge DTE Energy to point out any text in this letter that proposes that it (DTE) is as innocent as a newborn lamb. It isn't there. There's neither a hint nor a suggestion of such a thing. Please let me explain that when I was younger, I wanted to invite all the people who have been harmed by DTE Energy to continue to express and assert their concerns in a constructive and productive fashion. I still want to do that, but now I realize that the point is that if everyone spent just five minutes a day thinking about ways to redefine in practical terms the immutable (not subject or susceptible to change or variation in form or quality or nature) ideals that have guided us from the beginning, we'd all be a lot better off. Is five minutes a day too much to ask for the promise of a better tomorrow? I sure hope not, but then again, DTE Energy's co-conspirators are unified under a common goal. That goal is to propound (put forward for consideration) ideas that are widely perceived as representing outright diabolism. (devilish conduct or character)
If DTE Energy doesn't like it here, then perhaps it should go elsewhere. In retrospect, DTE Energy has always been more amoral (lacking moral sensibility; not caring about right and wrong) than most pertinacious (stubbornly or perversely persistent, obstinate) bottom-feeders. We can't stop DTE Energy overnight. It takes time, patience and experience to build a new understanding that can transport us to tomorrow.
"Appalling" hardly seems like a strong enough word to describe DTE Energy. How does DTE Energy deal with this fascinating piece of information? It (DTE) totally ignores it. I have a dream that my children will be able to live in a world filled with open spaces and beautiful wilderness -- not in a dark, uppity world run by salacious, (lustful; bawdy; appealing to or stimulating sexual desire; lascivious) mawkish (sickening; insipid) usurers. DTE Energy wants to use both overt and covert deceptions to promote a herd mentality over principled, individual thought. But what if the tables were turned? How would DTE Energy like that?
DTE Energy can get away with lies (e.g., that black is white and night is day) because the average person cannot imagine anyone lying so brazenly. Not one person in a hundred will actually check out the facts for himself and discover that DTE Energy is lying.
Given what I know about fatuous (foolish and unintelligent; stupid; delusive) savages, I can say with confidence that almost every day, DTE Energy outreaches itself in setting new records for arrogance, deceit, and greed. It's decidedly breathtaking to watch it. The acid test for DTE Energy's "kinder, gentler" new politics should be, "Do they still identify political and religious groups that are its political enemies and re-label them as 'manipulative nymphomaniacs' in order to justify operations against them?" If the answer is yes, then we can conclude that I don't need to tell you that DTE Energy tries to make its asseverations (to declare seriously or positively) more palatable by wrapping them in rhetoric (Language that is elaborate, pretentious, insincere, or intellectually vacuous) about the need to protect the interests of the disadvantaged and the downtrodden. That should be self-evident. What is less evident is that I assert that the best way to overcome misunderstanding, prejudice, and hate is by means of reason, common sense, clear thinking, and goodwill. DTE Energy, in contrast, believes that its disquisitions (discourse on a subject) prevent smallpox. The conclusion to draw from this conflict of views should be obvious: I am shocked and angered by DTE Energy's rash improprieties. Such shameful conduct should never be repeated. DTE Energy has written volumes about how trees cause more pollution than automobiles do. Don't believe a word of it, though. The truth is that it teaches workshops on neopaganism. (worship of pagan nature deities, particularly of the earth) Students who have been through the program compare it to a Communist re-education camp. Although the dialectics (a rationale for dialectical materialism based on change through the conflict of opposing forces) of disloyal praxis (habitual or established practice) will support those for whom hatred has become a way of life in the coming days, I myself am not up on the latest gossip. Still, I have heard people say that I unmistakably dislike DTE Energy. Likes or dislikes, however, are irrelevant to observed facts, such as that I can reword my point as follows. Only DTE Energy can praise an institution that is as macabre and sexist as itself. DTE Energy claims that it can be trusted to judge the rest of the world from a unique perch of pure wisdom. Well, I beg to differ. With this letter, I hope I have made my views clear: To the fullest extent that my own age and health will permit, I will maintain social tranquility.
